Belt Type Conveyor

• The belt type conveyor is a device that uses continuous belts to carry the loads from one point to another. Belt type conveyors can be categorized into two types: lightweight and heavyweight.
• The lightweight belt type conveyor has a working tension of less than 70kgs per inch of width while the heavyweight has a working tension of at least more than 70kgs.

• Working Principle

• The belt is stretched in between two pulleys and is supported either by rollers or a metal slider pan. The pulleys and the belt form a closed ring so that the belt can rotate continuously in the loop. The power-supplied rotor is used to drive the pulley and the belt is connected to the rotor. For the belt to move efficiently and effortlessly, the idler and the pulley should rotate in the same direction.
• The conveyor can be operated at various speeds and can be aligned either horizontal or inclined to the ground.
